Jerusalem |
Beautiful entrance before Hezekiah's tunnel. This field trip day was so fun because we got to walk through this super long man-made tunnel from the time of Hezekiah?! History really can be fun. Plus, here in Jerusalem we often end up seeing historical sites that are no longer standing and have to use our imagination. It was nice to really experience it this time haha. The water goes up to about mid thigh at times and ends at the Pool of Siloam, a very special sit4e where Christ performed a miracle healing a blind man.
In John 9, we read of a man born blind. Christ's disciples asked Him who had sinned, Christ was able to teach them a valuable lesson. He explains that this man simply was born blind so that the works of God could be manifest. How often do we look at others and think they have brought the pain ad hurt upon themselves? How often do we blame others or Gd for the and in the world? This story shows so perfectly that sometimes, it isn't anybody's fault. It is the work of an all-knowing God seeking to bring others to Christ through His miracles. Siloam was nothing beautiful, but God doesn't need beautiful, He needs willing.
